Dear Beautiful Community,

We are reaching out to say that we are in this with you. In this slightly post-equinox time, we are experiencing our grief as well as our resilience, learning ways to step up while also slowing down, both in need of support and in a strong position to offer support to those in our community who find themselves vulnerable at this time.

As you can imagine, we are taking COVID-19 very seriously. We urge you to do the same. Our actions matter right now. A resilient community is one that is willing to act on behalf of one another, for the wellbeing of the whole.

All March, April and May indoor, group programming is postponed. We are posting updates to our website and communicating directly with participants. In the meantime, we are re-visioning alternative short-term approaches to offering deeply meaningful ways to fulfill our mission of healing the human-Earth relationship.

We are still investing energy into the Community Learning Garden, which is thriving. We believe that now, more than ever, the ability to grow food and nurture a relationship with the land are vital skills. If you are facing financial hardship, and a membership to the Community Garden Cooperative would be helpful, please email Meg

This crisis is sparking deep consideration, offering novel opportunities, and requesting major changes in our cultural and social systems. There is much to ponder, discuss, and eventually, say. We’re also moved to slow down, tend to our health, care for our families and neighbors, and allow adequate space for processing such enormous shifts.

We hope you are finding moments to walk outside, touch the earth, lean against the trees, and breathe deeply of the fresh spring air. Nature connection is important medicine.

May you and your loved ones be well. May you offer what you have and receive what you need. May we all understand our impact within our profound interrelatedness. May we find ease in our new practice of “spacious solidarity.”

Warmly,
Megan Toben & the Staff of The Eco-Institute
