Dear Friends,
After a winter of deep reflection, I write to share some exciting news about our plans for a new season of growth and creative flowering for the Eco-Institute.
For five months, the leadership and Board, in close consultation with mentors and advisors, undertook a review of our people, programs, and operations at the Eco-Institute. We explored our strengths, weaknesses, and unique offerings to people and planet, and how we can best contribute to healing the human-Earth relationship in a way that fully supports our program participants and nurtures the quality of life and livelihood of the staff, visiting teachers, and all those served by the organization.
We arrived at two major conclusions. First, we must do what we do best and re-root within our mission. Second, we need to round out our staff, so that the talents of our people get full expression without strain. It’s also time to establish more robust financial sustainability to ensure that the Eco-Institute can serve as an Earth Sanctuary and Learning Center for many years to come.
With deep gratitude for all the ways we have co-created sanctuary and learning together over the years,
Meg
