This workshop is the third session of our 4-Part Natural Building Series.

Natural Plastering Workshop

August 13-14, 2016

Join us to learn about finishing walls beautifully with natural materials. We will learn by plastering on the strawbale walls of a 600 square-foot, natural cabin at the Eco-Institute. The focus will be primarily on clay-based plasters, and we will cover different recipes and different natural additives, like wheat paste, horse manure, and more. Various trowels will be available to use, and plastering with just your hands can also be fun and work well. The plasters we learn about are not just applicable to strawbale, but are equally appropriate to use on cob, slip-straw, and even drywall! The plastering process can be magical and one of the most transformative parts of any natural building project.

We will begin at 9:00am and end our days around 4:30pm each day. A wholesome, vegetarian lunch will be served each day.
